Intermark is born: pioneers in packing list envelopes
INTERMARK began its activity in 1972 as the first and only manufacturer of Packing List envelopes in Spain. The company was established under the name Intercontinental Marketing S.A.
In the following years, additional Packaging and Labelling products were incorporated through distribution agreements in Spain with Avery Dennison (label attachment systems for the garment industry) and CONTACT (adhesive label application machines).
Relocation, growth and consolidation
In 1990, Intermark moved its production, distribution warehouse and offices to Terrassa (Can Parellada Industrial Estate).
From 1996, when the company changed ownership, two major changes were implemented, enabling rapid business growth:
A new sales network with in-house staff in Barcelona and Madrid, along with representatives across various regions of Spain.
An expanded product range through new distribution agreements, focusing the commercial strategy on large-scale retail.
At the end of 1999, Intermark reached an agreement with UNSA Ambalaj for the distribution of Big Bags in Spain and Portugal, marking the beginning of its industrial packaging division.
Expansion, ISO 9001 certification and the launch of Intermark Packaging & Labelling
In 2004, Intermark obtained ISO 9001 certification and moved to new facilities in the Santa Margarita industrial estate in Terrassa, doubling its warehouse and office capacity.
In 2007, following a change in ownership, the current company was established: Intermark Packaging & Labelling S.L.
From that date onwards, commercial activity was divided into two main groups:
- Packaging consumables: Bags, envelopes and labelling.
- Industrial packaging: Big Bags and other containers for solid and liquid products.
Logistics expansion, exclusive FPS agency in Iberia and opening of a branch office in Portugal
In 2010, Intermark acquired a new industrial warehouse in Can Petit, Terrassa, increasing its storage capacity and order dispatch capabilities.
That same year, the company invested in a new management software system (SAP Business One), integrating 100% of its processes: Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, Quality and Administration.
In 2017, the first agency agreement was signed with GREIF Flexible Products (now known as FPS Flexible Products), under which Intermark became the exclusive agent for Spain and Portugal, managing all commercial and logistics activities.
In 2019, construction of the new headquarters began and a commercial office was opened in Águeda, Portugal.
Also in 2019, land was acquired for the construction of Intermark’s new offices and warehouse, to which the company relocated at the end of 2021.
This investment was completed with the implementation of a new warehouse management system.
Expansion of the product range and partnership with Fiorini Packaging.
